Followers are not clinical credentials. A viral video is not a randomized controlled trial. A personal transformation isn’t proof that the same intervention will work for everyone else. A biochemical mechanism isn’t automatically a clinical outcome. And finding a paper that agrees with you does not mean you have settled the question. This is especially important because health information is conditional.

there are the moments in actual healthcare settings that stay with you. I've had nurses ask me things like, “How long have you had sickle cell?” The first time someone asked me that, I honestly thought it was a joke. I remember thinking, Okay...we're making jokes to lighten the mood. Nope.

What happens if the extra income isn't consistent? What happens if one month is better than another? What happens if you find work you enjoy, but you aren't sure you can maintain it? What happens if you earn enough that your benefits are affected, but not enough to actually replace the security those benefits provided?
